Terms and Conditions

1. About us
This website is run by Cake Direction Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13379561). When we say "we", "us" or "our", we mean Cake Direction Ltd. By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these terms, together with our Refund Policy, Privacy Policy and Delivery Policy. You must be 18 or over to place an order.

2. Prices and billing
All prices are in pounds sterling. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added: the price you see is the price you pay, plus delivery, which is shown at checkout. If you order from outside the United Kingdom, customs or import charges are not included and are your responsibility.

We take care to publish accurate prices, descriptions and availability, but mistakes can happen. If we spot an error in your order, we'll contact you before dispatch so you can confirm at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

Prices, discounts and promotions may change at any time, but changes never affect an order you have already placed. Some promotions have their own terms; where those differ from these terms, the promotion terms apply. Our prices may differ from prices for the same products in other shops or marketplaces.

When you pay, please make sure your payment, billing and contact details are accurate and up to date, and that you are authorised to use the card or payment method.

3. Ordering and payment
Your order is an offer to buy. Payment is taken at checkout using the methods shown there, and your order is accepted when we send your dispatch confirmation. Goods remain our property until paid for in full.

Occasionally we may need to decline, change or cancel an order, for example if an item is unavailable or there is an error in the listing. If that happens we'll let you know using the contact details you gave us, and refund anything you have paid for the affected items.

Please check your order carefully before submitting it. Once it is placed, cancellations and returns are handled under our Refund Policy.

4. Stock availability
Occasionally an item may be out of stock after you order. If that happens we'll let you know when it will be available. You can wait, or cancel that item for a refund, and we'll send the rest of your order as usual. We may discontinue products or limit the quantity available per order at any time.

5. Shipping and delivery
Delivery areas, charges and times are set out in our Delivery Policy [link to add]. Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees, and we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, customs or events outside our control. If your order has not arrived within 30 days, you can cancel it for a full refund. The goods become your responsibility once they are delivered to you.

6. Cancellations and returns
If you change your mind, you can cancel within 14 days of receiving your order. Return postage is at your cost. Personalised or made-to-order items cannot be returned unless faulty. Full details are in our Refund Policy.

7. Damaged, faulty or missing items
We pack every order carefully, but if something arrives damaged, faulty, incorrect or missing, please email info@cakedirection.co.uk as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours, with your order number and photos of the item, its packaging and the shipping label. Please keep the damaged goods until we've spoken to you. We'll arrange a replacement or refund, whichever you prefer.

8. Product information
Product details are provided in good faith, based on information from our suppliers, and may be updated at any time. We do our best to show our products accurately, but colours and appearance may look slightly different on your screen, and we can't promise every product will match your personal expectations. This does not affect your legal rights: goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.

For food products and ingredients, always check the product label for ingredients, allergens and storage instructions before use. If you have an allergy question, please ask us before ordering.

9. Advice and tips
We love sharing ideas and technical tips. They are given in good faith, but how you use them is your own responsibility.

10. Reviews and feedback
We love hearing from you. If you send us a review, photo, idea or other feedback, you allow us to use and share it, free of charge, on our website, social media and marketing. Please only send content that is your own, honest, lawful and respectful, and tell us if you received anything in return for a review. We may edit or remove feedback that is offensive, misleading or breaks these terms.

11. Website content
All text, photos, graphics, logos and designs on this site belong to Cake Direction Ltd or our suppliers and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. You're welcome to browse and shop, but please don't copy, reuse or republish our content without our written permission.

12. Using our website
Please use our website lawfully and fairly. That means not using it to break the law, mislead or harass anyone, send spam, upload viruses, collect other people's personal information, or scrape or copy the site using robots or other automated tools. You are responsible for keeping your account login details safe. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. This does not affect any order we have already accepted.

13. Third-party links
Our website may include links to other websites. We don't control them and are not responsible for their content, products or services. Please read their own terms and policies before using them.

14. Shopify
Our store is hosted by Shopify. Your purchase is made directly with Cake Direction Ltd, and Shopify is not responsible for our products or your order.

15. Your data
We only collect the information needed to process and deliver your order, and we share it only where necessary, for example with our couriers and with Shopify, who host our store. We send marketing emails only if you have signed up. Full details, including your rights under UK GDPR, are in our Privacy Policy.

16. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Beyond that, we are not liable for indirect losses or business losses such as lost profit, and our liability is limited to the value of your order.

Please email info@cakedirection.co.uk and we'll do everything we can to put things right.

18. Changes and law
We may update these terms from time to time, and the latest version is always on this page. The terms that apply to your order are those shown here when you placed it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
